Getting There -- Take I-95 to Ga. 25 (the Island Pkwy.) or U.S. 17 to Brunswick, where signs direct visitors across the F. J. Torras Causeway to St. Simons Island.

Visitor Information -- The St. Simons Island Visitors Center & Chamber of Commerce, 530 Beachview Dr. W. (tel. 912/638-9014; www.bgicvb.com), offers maps and information, particularly on beaches. It's open daily 9am to 5pm.
