Am Schlossgarten Review

The Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin is the market leader in Stuttgart, attracting the Porsche crowd, but this government-rated five-star hotel wins the race for charm and tranquillity. Its location is in a landscaped park, although it is close to the Königstrasse shopping zone. Listed as one of the "Leading Hotels of the World," it's only a few minutes on foot from the central train station. The epitome of luxury living in Stuttgart, it boasts the town's most enjoyable hotel dining and drinking facilities.

Bedrooms and suites are elegant, with individual character, comfortable furnishings, and deluxe bathrooms with tub and shower. The on-site Zirbelstube offers a grand cuisine under the direction of Bernhard Diers and his team of talented chefs. Innovation and craftsmanship mark the cuisine. In summer the Restaurant am Schlossgarten with its outdoor tables is one of the most romantic places for dining in Stuttgart. There is also a wine bar serving an innovative Mediterranean cuisine, with perhaps the finest wine carte in Stuttgart.

Facilities:
3 restaurants; bar; airport transfers (55€); bikes

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
