The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, 200 Hurd Rd., Bethel (tel. 866/781-2922; www.bethelwoodscenter.org), an outstanding concert pavilion (partially covered with lawn seating) on the grounds of the 1969 Woodstock concert -- attended by an astonishing 400,000 people -- plays host to a wide range of mainstream rock, pop, jazz, and classical concerts, including Bob Dylan, the Boston Pops, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and B.B. King. The pavilion seats 4,800, with room for another 12,000 on the lawn. Callicoon Theater, 30 Olympia St., Callicoon (tel. 845/887-4460; www.artsalliancesite.org), is a cool single-screen 1948 "post-Deco" theater still in use, showing first-run and art and independent films. Tusten Theater, 210 Bridge St., Narrowsburg (tel. 845/252-7272; www.artsalliancesite.org/programs/performing), is a fantastic, nicely renovated 1926 Deco-style theater that seats 160 for live music, including blues, jazz, chamber, and theater performances; the Delaware Valley Opera is in residence at the theater during the summer.
