The Sun Valley Resort (tel. 800/786-8259 or 208/622-2151; www.sunvalley.com) offers over 500 rooms ranging from the original lodge and inn and to more than 100 separate apartments and condominiums. High season rates in winter are higher on weekends and much higher over the holidays; a basic hotel double starts around $169 and goes up quickly. Minimum stays may apply. Off-season rates (spring and fall) are roughly one-quarter less expensive. There are not many bargain rates in the Sun Valley area, but a couple of lower-priced hotels offer high-season rooms between $130 and $160, and discounted off-season rates. Best Western Kentwood Lodge, 180 S.
