Architecturally undistinguished, this is nonetheless a welcoming family-run hotel that is close to the town center and about a 5-minute walk from the train station. It offers good value, with cozy bedrooms, decent furnishings and modern decor, and tidy bathrooms for the night. The building itself is 2 centuries old and has been sheltering wayfarers to Swansea for decades. You never know who is likely to turn up. We once encountered former U.S. president Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter leaving the inn after having enjoyed a lunch here. Your hosts maintain midsize bedrooms that are well cared for and provide a good night's sleep.
