Frommer's Review
A tiny terrace, found after an interesting walk (turn right at the exit of Kings Cross CityRail station and ask directions from someone who appears normal) hides two cramped floors of Indian heaven. Apart from the name there's little to suggest it's an Indian eatery, and when it comes to the food any resemblance to what you might find on the subcontinent is hard to grasp, too. Apart from the spices, that is. So, in short, it's Indian and it's not -- which makes it all the more intriguing. Some examples include kangaroo with sesame seeds, chile, and lemon; oxtail curry with celeriac and caramelized onion; and the wonderful baby beet root with snow pea leaves, garam masala, and mild chile. There are several vegetarian options. The chef and owner, Basil Danielli, makes it all the more fun with his repartee. I highly recommend this place if you don't mind a casual atmosphere, a tight squeeze, and adventurous cuisine. It's a fun and fascinating taste sensation.
