Travelodge Hotel Sydney Review
This business-oriented hotel is cheap for Sydney, comfortable, and reasonably well located -- making it a good option for travelers who just want to unpack and explore. The rooms are Ikea-like in appearance, with a queen-size bed or twin beds. All include a kitchenette with a microwave. From here it's a short walk to Oxford Street, Town Hall, Hyde Park, and the monorail to Darling Harbour. The more upmarket Travelodge Wynyard (7-9 York St.; tel. 02/9274 1222) is more in the heart of the action and is surrounded by cafes and restaurants. It underwent renovation in 2007. Rooms there are nice and plush and cost A$174 (US$156/£78) for a standard room, A$195 (US$175/£87) for an executive room (with better views), and A$277 (US$250/£125) for larger rooms and studio apartments. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
