Átrium Music Café at Kárász u. 9 (tel. 06/30-289-4466 mobile phone only) is a lively place with a variety of different music styles each night including jazz, funk, and soul with specific ladies' nights. Szote Klub at Dóm tér 13 (tel. 62/545-773) is a definite disco with DJs knocking out the tunes, but the action doesn't start until 9:30pm and goes into the wee hours, whenever the action slows down. The famous Jate Klub of the university opened its doors in 1973. Originally it was an air-raid shelter located in the basement of the main building of the university. During the day, it operates as a cafe and in the evening it hosts parties, concerts, and cultural, theatrical, and literary events. It is open Monday to Friday 10am to the end of the program, Saturday 10pm to the end of the program, and closed on Sunday. The latest edition for the youth set is a club called Sing-Sing on Mars tér, pavilion C (tel. 62/311-314), but their only regular hours are Wednesday 11pm to 5am with occasional Friday and Saturday events.
