The quality of its food and service tends to be up and down, but this microbrewery with sidewalk tables is a fine spot for a cold one while waiting for the Moorea ferry at the docks across the boulevard. The tabloid menu is all in French, but the waitstaff speaks enough English to explain the offerings. Choose from sandwiches, salads, roast chicken served hot or cold, or grilled steaks, mahimahi, and tuna plain or with optional French sauces. Jarret de porc, smoked ham hocks served with sautéed potatoes and sauerkraut, reminds me of the Southern soul food of my youth. The best deal here is the croque brasseurs, a ham sandwich served under melted Gruyère cheese and accompanied by a beer and a green salad with excellent vinaigrette dressing, all for 900CFP (US$9).
