Frommer's Review
Beside the lagoon in Papara, on the southwest coast, this is one of Tahiti's better family-operated pensions. Owner Steve Brotherson keeps everything running smoothly, while his mother, Henriette, tends the lush gardens and goldfish pond. Half the units here are standard government-issue bungalows; that is, each consists of one room for living and sleeping, an attached bathroom, and a front porch. They can also grab noise from the round-island road, so consider paying more for a one-bedroom lagoonside unit, each of which has an ocean view from its front porch. There is no beach on the premises, but you can swim in the pool or rent a canoe, kayak, or motorboat to play in the lagoon. English-speaking Steve will take you on a guided tour of the island. Restaurants, snack bars, and grocery stores are nearby.
Facilities:
