Frommer's Review
Avid surfer Ralph Sanford bought the two bungalows at his humble lagoonside establishment in ritzy Paea as prefabricated kits in New Zealand; hence, they are larger and have more character than the cookie-cutter fares found at most small family-run establishments here. And their porches present million-dollar views of Moorea, especially the one sitting beside the bulkhead along the lagoon. Each has a kitchen, TV, and ceiling fan. Behind them, an A-frame chalet houses a room with double bed downstairs and a six-bed dormitory in the loft. The communal kitchen stays busy, as do Ralph's free kayaks (bring your own snorkeling gear). Grocery stores and snack bars are short walks away. In my opinion, this is the top backpacker accommodation on Tahiti, even if you do have to stay at least 2 nights.
Facilities:
Communal kitchen; free kayaks
