Frommer's Review
This government-rated four-star hotel in Taormina is used more aggressively by tour groups than virtually any other hotel in town. It's set on a rocky ridge in the lower reaches of Taormina, midway between a busy piazza and an isolated, somewhat dusty garden. Part of the allure of this place derives from its outrageous facade (ca. 1903), which artfully mimics the grand Moorish architecture you might expect in Marrakech. Most of the rather formal-looking guest rooms were recently upgraded and inspired by late-19th-century models. Older, not-yet-renovated rooms are a bit more bland but equally comfortable. Private bathrooms come with showers or tubs.
