Hurricane Hotel ReviewThis hotel 7km (4 1/3 miles) west of Tarifa has some drawbacks but is so popular with the windsurfing set that rooms are sometimes booked months in advance. It is charmingly built in the Moorish style with arches, balconies, and ivy climbing the walls amidst subtropical gardens. Leading down to miles of beaches, the Hurricane Hotel opens onto views over the Straits of Gibraltar to Morocco and has more amenities than others in the area. The accommodations in front of the building are a little too close to the road; the more tranquil rooms are near the pools. Breakfast is rather skimpy.
