One of the best hotels in the area is outside of town on the road to Cádiz, within walking distance of the beach at La Peña. It is a typically graceful Andalusian structure of two stories, with whitewashed walls and colored tiles. Bedrooms are a bit small but have balconies, tiled floors, simple but comfortable furnishings (tasteful wooden pieces), plus well-maintained tiled bathrooms. Instead of a regular double, you can live more privately in one of the bungalows set on the landscaped grounds. A very good restaurant on-site serves regional dishes.
