Frommer's Review
Formerly known as Dive Taveuni, one of the best diving operations in Fiji, this resort has given up the tanks and weight belts and has turned to honeymooners for the bulk of its business (no kids under 15 here). If you are among these romantic souls, you're in for a very private, pampered stay with a fabulous view. You had best not want to step out of your bungalow onto the beach, however, for this property sits high on a bluff overlooking Somosomo Strait, and you will have to climb down it to reach the sand. (Lomalagi Resort in Savusavu is in the same situation.) To compensate, there's a hilltop pool, which commands a magnificent view over the strait, as do the central building and the seven guest bungalows here. Six of the units are hexagonal models built of pine with side wall windows that let in the view and the breeze. The most stunning view of all is from the spacious deck of the Veidomoni bure -- or you can take in the vista from its open-to-the-sea outdoor shower. All other units also have outdoor showers. One deluxe unit has a separate bedroom, and the luxurious Matalua villa has two master bedrooms and its own private pool.
