This new park, about 6km (3 3/4 miles) from the center of town, is home to the huge concrete statue of Christ, Cristo del Picacho, that watches over the city. The main reason to come to this park is for the views of the capital and the surrounding mountains. But there's also a small zoo (L20 adults; Mon-Fri 10am-3pm, Sat and Sun 10am-4pm) with animals from around the country, like monkeys, snakes, macaws, and iguanas, as well as a taxidermy collection that, in my opinion, is located too close to the living creatures. Buses here leave from behind Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores.
