Frommer's Review
With an outstanding central location right on Gordon Beach, the Dan started out as a small hotel in the 1950s, and in a series of expansions and renovations, was lovingly developed into today's modern megacomplex. Because the hotel was built in many sections over 4 decades, the layout is a bit complicated -- many of the lower-category rooms (Superior) with older furniture face inner courtyards; upper-category rooms (Deluxe) are divided into those facing busy Ha-Yarkon Street and those facing the sea; there are no balconies. Decor in the Deluxe rooms is comfortable, designed around dark furniture and textiles; some rooms are equipped for those with disabilities. Service is very strong. The indoor pool, overlooking the sea, offers the best winter swimming of any hotel in town. Walk across the shore-line road and you're at the beach.
Facilities: 3 restaurants; bar; pools (indoor, outdoor); health club; sauna; steam bath; children's activities in season; business center; 24-hr. room service; laundry/dry cleaning service; nonsmoking rooms; club-level rooms; use of golf facilities at Dan Accadia Hotel in Herzlia.
