Frommer's Review
Tel Aviv's most fun luxury hotel is right on Gordon Beach, just steps from the Ha-Yarkon Street restaurant and cafe district and the art galleries of Gordon Street. Unlike its more isolated competition, the Sheraton is an easy walk to Dizengoff Square, Allenby Street, the Yemenite Quarter, and the Carmel Market. At a time when most Tel Aviv hotels have held off on upgrading, the Sheraton's public areas and most guest rooms sparkle thanks to a constant program of renovations. Rooms on the deluxe Tower Floors are spacious and airy, with light furniture and bright, cheerful spring colors. In 2005, rooms throughout the hotel (except on one standard floor) were refitted with new specially designed beds; some rooms are accessible to those with disabilities. Of all the high-rise beachfront hotels, only the Sheraton has many rooms facing squarely out onto the Mediterranean; try for these rooms -- the views of the sunset, or of rolling waves on a stormy winter night are worth the extra price. Because of noise considerations, avoid rooms with adjoining doors. Personal attention in the Executive Towers is outstanding, and the staff throughout the hotel is helpful and knowledgeable without being intrusive. The Sheraton's dining facilities are the best of any hotel in the country, starting with its critically acclaimed Olive Leaf Restaurant.
