Park Plaza Orchid Tel Aviv

An option for families that want better-quality accommodations and more privacy, the Orchid Park was totally renovated in 1999 and partly redone in 2007. Updated rooms and suites in this beachfront (beach is across the road) high-rise are stylish and most attractive. Ongoing 2008 updating should get most rooms up to snuff. There are standard rooms; larger studio rooms; and one- and two-bedroom suites with kitchenettes (with fridges and microwaves). You can add up to two additional people in suites for $40 (£20) per person; breakfast, served in a room overlooking the sea, can be arranged for an additional charge. Service is not a strong point. The gym is large and well equipped. Tip: There is a wide range of neighboring restaurants (McDonald's; the great Yotvata; and Mike's Place) where you can breakfast or brunch better and much cheaper than in the hotel.
