Now part of the Howard Johnson Chain, the Shalom Hotel is a modern, five-story structure with a bright lobby. All the front rooms have balconies with views of a glimpse of the Mediterranean and Independence Park. Guest rooms are functional but not special. In front of the hotel is the Stagecoach Restaurant and Pub, which has a Wild West decor and live music every evening.
