Frommer's Review
When it opened in 1999, this 24-story tower was the first luxury megahotel to open in Tel Aviv in over a decade. It's indoor public areas are enclosed by a soaring, balcony-lined atrium that dwarfs the lobbies of any other hotel in Tel Aviv, but the Intercontinental's public areas do not catch vistas of the Mediterranean, and the hotel does not have the feeling of an urban beachfront resort offered by other top Tel Aviv hotels. Guest rooms do have views of the sea, and the higher you go on the elevator (and in price) the more dazzling vistas of Tel Aviv you get. Rooms are spacious and up to date, though the flowered textiles in the decor are surprisingly passé. There are nice touches throughout the hotel: duvet covers over the blankets; an Internet cafe that includes cake and coffee in its rates; ecologically correct toiletries in all guest bathrooms. The inventive Aubergine Restaurant is one of the best choices for fine kosher dining in Tel Aviv. The location is the big minus.

The inventive, kosher Aubergine Restaurant; a kosher sushi bar; a cigar bar, as well as cafes and a buffet restaurant.
