Frommer's Review
This beautiful Art Deco hotel, opened in 2001, is Israel's most enticingly designed mid-range hotel. Built into a landmark Bauhaus-style cinema building from the 1930s, its up-to-the-minute, very comfortable rooms are decorated with specially re-created carpeting, textiles, and furnishings that recall the sets from a Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers classic. You check in at the Cinema's former candy counter, beneath an ultramodern staircase to the mezzanine, and are given a bag of popcorn with your key. A drawback for some, however, is the solid wall of noise, both traffic and music, built into the Dizengoff Square location. Quieter rooms at the back are in great demand, but for light sleepers, even a back room with double-glazed windows may not be enough to keep out the Dizengoff din. There are connecting rooms good for families, and accessible rooms for those with disabilities. A number of rooms have balconies, and there's a rooftop terrace overlooking Dizengoff Square. If you call ahead, the hotel will arrange for parking. The staff, as in most Atlas chain hotels, is helpful and pleasant.
