The Close ReviewThe refurbished Close, which dates from 1596 and takes its name from a Cistercian monastery that was on this site, is the town's premier inn. Once the home of a wealthy wool merchant, the house was built of Cotswold stone, with gables and stone-mullioned windows. The ecclesiastical windows in the rear overlook a garden with a reflecting pool. Most rooms are spacious and handsomely furnished with antiques.
