Frommer's Review
A share of the credit for Great Barrington's growing rep as a gastronomic destination has to go to this self-assured enterprise. Traditionalists grumble that this follow-up to the owners' stylish Bistro Zinc in Lenox is more Manhattan than Berkshires, and it clearly isn't country cookin'. The presence of a floor-to-ceiling painting of a bull of regal bearing and a large print of a resplendent wild turkey rightly imply that beef and game are the way to go. The New York strip, filet mignon, and 24-ounce porterhouse come with tasty sides and straightforward preparations that are hard to beat for flavor. Blackened catfish with black bean and corn salsa and tomato marmalade and triple-cut lamb chops with mint butter and white bean purée are just as satisfying. Don't resist the caramel banana strudel as a finisher. Since most of the menu items can be cooked quickly, expect to be in and out within an hour unless you purposely slow down delivery.
