The former Yellow Aster has been converted to this sleek Manhattan(ish) steakhouse, complete with way too much Sinatra on the stereo. The lower floor is a raw bar, and there are several rooms upstairs, two of them with fireplaces. An outdoor fire pit gathers patrons for drinks and dessert. Next to the black onyx bar is a walk-in wine cabinet, signaling the management's enthusiasm for the grape. They offer, for example, a flight of monthly featured wines -- 2-ounce tastings of three bottles for only $8. Wines by the glass are ample pours, too. Apart from the modest raw-bar choices, you'll find clam chowder, Caesar salad, bruschetta, and crab cakes among the expected starters, most of them competently done, a description that can be given the steaks, chops, and fish as well. In sum, a pleasantly satisfying meal and evening can be had, accompanied by live jazz on Friday and Saturday evenings.
