HotelsMeningie, on Lake Albert, is the main town in the Coorong. You could stay at Coorong Wilderness Lodge, at Point Hack (tel. 08/8575 6001), a stunning site on the sand dunes about 25km (16 miles) south of Meningie. Simple but good-enough rooms here cost A$65 (US$59/£29) a night. It's Aboriginal owned and you can try bush foods, or take a kayak out onto the lake.
