Planning a Trip

Getting There -- The nearest railway station is in Bodmin, which lies on the main rail line from London to Penzance. From Bodmin, you'll have to take a taxi for 30 minutes to get to Tintagel (there's no bus service from Bodmin to Tintagel). For railway inquiries, call tel. 0845/748-4950 or visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.

If you're driving, from Exeter, head across Cornwall on the A30, continuing west at the junction with the A395. From this highway, various secondary roads lead to Tintagel.

Visitor Information -- In Truro, the Municipal Building, Boscawen Street (tel. 01872/274555; www.truro.gov.uk), has tourist information and is open from April to October, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm; from November to March, it's open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.
