Frommer's Review
This is the better of two hotels located in the narrow gorge, set against the sheer cliff face and directly next to the Todra spring. Owned and managed by two local brothers, the Yasmina is a large hotel that's popular with all types of travelers, from adventure tour groups to 4WD convoys. There's a choice of standard or newer rooms; all of them are pretty basic but clean and comfortable. They also cater to day-trippers who visit the gorge, hence the four restaurants. A large Berber tent with a Moroccan lounge looks out over the spring and is the recommended place to take meals and relax with a book or chat with one of the many fellow travelers. The restaurant pumps out a lot of meals during the day, yet the soups, tagines (kefta with egg is a specialty), and fresh fruit have hit the spot for me every time. The twin rooftop terraces afford the best view of the gorge -- a favorite pastime is sitting back and counting rock-climbing goats -- and budget travelers can sleep under the stars here on the mattresses provided. There are also a few rooftop rooms, but they can become oppressively hot during the summer. The hotel is powered by a diesel generator that is switched off around midnight, but it's located about 50m (164 ft.) from the hotel and rarely upsets with its noise.
