This country inn, opened in 1975 and renovated in 2004, is an idyllic retreat on the Ilha do Lombo. The location is some 15km (9 1/3 miles) southeast of Tomar. Its terrace provides a view of Portugal's version of the Hoover Dam. Bedrooms at the inn range from small to midsize, each attractively and comfortably furnished and equipped with a tiled bathroom. The hotel staff will help you arrange canoeing on the lake. Windsurfing and water-skiing are also possible. The hotel also operates a traditional restaurant, using market-fresh ingredients in its preparation of both regional dishes and international fare.
