Le Sélect has a longstanding reputation as Toronto's favorite Parisian-style bistro, and its location on Wellington Street West (a few blocks from its previous home) is outstanding. The change in venue isn't the only improvement: Le Sélect went through an agonizing bureaucratic nightmare over its esteemed wine cellar, in which the restaurant was forced to prove that its vintages were purchased from wineries and not homemade hooch (if you're interested in the full story, visit the restaurant's website). The good news is that the bottles are out of bondage and available for quaffing. The menu emphasizes traditional rib-sticking fare such as steak frites and cassoulet, all nicely done. There are a few vegetarian options too, such as mushroom risotto.
