Frommer's Review
Separate from Jamie Kennedy Restaurant, my favorite wine bar is still one of the best bets in Toronto. The opening of the restaurant is great news for wine bar patrons, because it used to be necessary to arrive by 5:30pm to get a table here (and it's still advisable to show up early). Kennedy's innovative take on bistro cuisine is reminiscent of a tapas bar: All of the plates are small (with prices to match), and dishes include crisp Yukon Gold frites, asparagus with poached egg and pine nuts, and tender duck confit with polenta. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable; ask about the difference between a glass of Ontario Riesling and a French sauvignon blanc, and you're likely to get a taste of each as well as an explanation.
