Frommer's Review
The Park Hyatt is upgrading this property again, less than a decade after a C$60-million renovation in 2003, cementing its reputation as the last word in luxe. The guest rooms in the North Tower are among the most generously proportioned in town -- the smallest is 46 sq. m (495 sq. ft.). A glamorous lobby dotted with Eastern-inspired objets d'art links the North and South towers. The ground-floor restaurant Annona is a treat for gourmets. Mordecai Richler famously called the 18th-floor Roof Lounge the only civilized place in Toronto. But his comment predated the opening of the Stillwater Spa. It features the Couples Sanctuary, which has a whirlpool tub, fireplace, and side-by-side massage tables -- perfect for inseparable romantics. This hotel's convenient location across the street from the Royal Ontario Museum affords all the advantages of Yorkville, as well as a reprieve from the construction-laden mess that Yorkville Avenue has become.
