This spectacular 2,000-seat, state-of-the-art facility was built for the Toronto run of Miss Saigon, with a stage large enough to accommodate the landing of the helicopter in that production. Later, it was home to The Lion King, Hairspray, and the ill-fated stage adaptation of the epic The Lord of the Rings. More recently, it has featured The Book of Mormon. Frank Stella, who painted 929 sq. m (10,000 sq.-ft.) of colorful murals, decorated the exterior and interior walls. People in wheelchairs have access to all levels of the theater (not the norm in Toronto).
