Located on the seventh floor of College Park, this was considered one of the grandest concert halls in Canada when it opened in 1931. Like so many other venues in Toronto, the Carlu was shuttered in the 1970s. Now, the 1,200-seat concert hall is back in favor, and its architecture is believed to be one of the best surviving examples of Art Moderne in the world (it was created by Jacques Carlu, the architect also responsible for New York's Rainbow Room). The concerts here tend to be charity benefits, with hefty price tags for tickets.
