Frommer's Review
This Canadian-owned chain boasts an excellent selection of books, magazines, and videotapes. It has tables and chairs for browsing, a cafe, and a helpful staff. Best of all, special events, such as author visits, live performances, and even seminars, take place almost daily. Kids have their own series of events. The store is a favorite with night owls -- it's open until 11pm or midnight every day. You'll find branches at the Eaton Centre (tel. 416/591-3622) and at 2300 Yonge St., at Eglinton Avenue (tel. 416/544-0049).
