Opened in 1971, Tarragon produces original works by such famous Canadian literary figures as Michel Tremblay, Michael Ondaatje, and Judith Thompson, alongside works from the likes of David Hare and David Mamet, as well as the occasional classic. There are two small theaters on-site—or three, if you count the 60-seat rehearsal hall, which is occasionally used for performances.
