Nestled in a small palm grove about 12km (7 1/2 miles) from Road Town, this property faces the Sir Francis Drake Channel and fronts one of the best small beaches on this side of the island. The hotel's main competitor is the Fort Burt Hotel, but one big plus at Fort Recovery is that beach, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The estate also contains the remnants of an old Dutch fort, including the stone lookout tower. Accommodations include 24 1-bedroom villas and 2 2-bedroom houses and a 7-bedroom villa. The large house has an art gallery hallway and a large wraparound porch. The resort has its own yoga instructor and classes are complimentary to guests, in case the sea breezes and the beach aren't relaxing enough.
If you book for 7 or more nights, dinner and a snorkeling trip are on the house.
