New ownership has made this formerly down-at-the-heels pensione very livable while maintaining the low prices and simple comforts, including Internet access in each room and private bathrooms. Rooms have firm, orthopedic beds, spanking-new modular furnishings, high ceilings, and linoleum-that-looks-like-wood floors. The shared bathrooms (four showers, six toilets) are of recent vintage, and a wide spot in the hall contains a small sitting area with TV. The Centro occupies a floor of a large building about midway between the train station and the Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia, and it is less than a 10-minute walk from either.
