In the lush Maraval Valley just an 8-minute (5km/3-mile) drive north of the center of Port-of-Spain, Monique's offers 20 bungalow-style rooms. Some are large enough to accommodate up to four people, and 10 rooms offer kitchenettes with their own porches. The biggest are nos. 25 and 26, which can sleep up to six, though everyone would feel a bit crowded. Families are fond of booking rooms here because of the kitchenettes. Accommodations have open balconies so you can enjoy the tropical breezes and scenic hills. The bathrooms are well organized and spotless, each with a shower. The air-conditioned dining room and bar offers a medley of local and international dishes, and Maracas Beach is only a 25-minute drive away.
