On a busy street just a couple blocks from the Plaza de Armas, this modern and very clean midsize independent hotel is a nice surprise. With handsome public rooms set way back from the street and its hubbub, it has a very welcoming atmosphere and good service. All of the quiet rooms are large and carpeted, with pretty standard modern hotel decor and good beds decked out in flowery bedspreads. Suites are especially large, with separate sitting areas. Walk-in discounts are frequently available. In this price range, Los Conquistadores is your best bet.
