Villa Sassi Review

This early-17th-century villa is set in its own 20-hectare (49-acre) park east of town near the Basilica di Superga. Rooms on the first floor are larger, with Oriental rugs and semi-designer 1980s furnishings or antique dressers scattered across the parquet floors; a few open onto spacious terraces. Second-floor rooms have terra cotta-tiled floors and sloping ceilings, and better views over the surrounding forested hills. The bar opens onto a pleasant cobblestone terrace. Their restaurant (on the first floor, with large windows opening to tree views, and with the terrace to be enjoyed during the warmer weather) is highly regarded in the area, popular with Torinese for a breezy summer escape from the city.

Facilities:
Highly regarded Piemontese restaurant; bar; babysitting; concierge; room service; smoke-free rooms

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
