This ever-popular all-suites resort ably juggles the needs of its guests on the sprawling, 114-unit property while maintaining high standards throughout. It can't hurt to have a gorgeous sweep of Grace Bay beach as a front door. The Sands is hardly a budget choice (few and far between on Provo), but competitive pricing and off-season packages make it appealing to both families and couples—it's always buzzing. Suites are handsomely furnished in beachy pastels and floor-to-ceiling windows, with a screened balcony or porch, fully equipped kitchen (studio suites have kitchenettes), and bathroom with travertine tile floor. Layouts differ according to which of the six three-story buildings you land in, but all suites except studios have pullout queen couches that can accommodate two additional persons. Building 3, which also has an elevator, has some of the nicest and roomiest suites, many with sea views; the one- and two-bedroom suites in Building 4 are larger than those in other buildings. Oceanfront and Oceanfront Deluxe suites have sumptuous wraparound balconies. Three free-form pools meander through the resort's tropical gardens. The Sands is home to one of the island's most popular beachfront restaurants, Hemingway's, open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Open year-round.
