This handsome 1770 brick Colonial, originally a farmhouse, is a very professionally run inn that's both elegant and relaxed. It has a nice library, sitting room, fireplaces, and pretty grounds. The rooms are very large and nicely appointed with modern wicker furniture, plush bedding, towels, and robes. The high-ceilinged Grand Room features a 100-year-old Bechstein grand piano. Owner and chef Howard's excellent gourmet breakfasts are something to look forward to. The only drawback is that it's an old house on a main road, so there's some early-morning traffic noise; if that will spoil your stay, you should ask for one of the rooms facing the back of the property.
