A former boardinghouse for artists, this charming and easygoing old guesthouse on Woodstock's main drag has the perfect feel of the town. Rooms are colorful, clean, and very sweetly decorated; most feature pretty quilts and hooked rugs. Quite a variety of accommodations are available. Some have shared bathrooms, others large private ones. A couple have twin beds, and there's even a single, which is becoming harder and harder to find. My favorite would have to be room no. 11, which is lavender with a large private bathroom. The young couple that owns and operates Twin Gables has ensured that it maintains a very high quality-to-price ratio.
