Frommer's Review
One of the newer, upscale additions to Ürgüp's already overflowing hotel landscape is this superbly decorated and ridiculously romantic hideaway on one of the more residential back streets of town. Sacred House is the dream child of the owner of Prokopi Pub, whose passion for antiques led her to create her own storage facility. Rooms reflect a sort of medieval aristocracy in the richness of the textiles draped over heavy stone walls and invaluable antiques. Rimming an open central courtyard, each room has a slightly different theme; the cleverest (and perhaps creepiest) is the altar room, reflecting the fact that the building used to be a church. The well-appointed roof terrace offers views over town; the restaurant prepares traditional Turkish cuisine with an Armenian twist.
