White-Water Rafting

One-day packages -- including lunch, all your gear, and 4 to 5 hours on the river -- start at C$109 (US$93/£50) for adults. Multiday trips and group packages are available, and they can provide transportation from Vancouver.

Only a 1 1/2-hour drive from the city is Chilliwack River Rafting (tel. 800/410-7238; www.chilliwackriverrafting.com), which offers half-day trips on the Chilliwack River and in the even hairier Chilliwack Canyon. The cost is C$89 (US$76/£40) for adults and C$69 (US$59/£31) for children.
