This charmingly intimate French restaurant located in a century-old house has always been a place for special occasions and celebrations, and with food and wine of this caliber, there's a lot to celebrate. The food is classical French -- but with inventive overtones and underpinnings. Try one of the tasting menus with wine pairings, and you won't regret a mouthful. Start with Kobe beef tartar and buffalo carpaccio, followed by a classic Caesar salad mixed at your table (Le Gavroche is known for its personal attention). Then, try duck Magret with a white peach reduction, a venison chop with strawberry ketchup, or mustard-crusted rack of lamb. Seafood and vegetarian choices are available as well. Finish your feast with a Grand Marnier soufflé or the incomparable "Lili" cake.
