Vij, reviewed above, takes Indian cuisine to inventive new heights and tastes. But Vij is only open for dinner, so right next door you can get lunch and takeout versions of Vij's curries and other specialties. Try lamb stewed in Vij's masala, spicy pulled pork, or beef in garlic and green onion curry. A sweet and savory snacks menu is offered from 4 to 8pm: Rice and paneer cakes with fresh mango salsa, vegetable samosas, and warm mango custard are some of the offerings. Rangoli has a hip, simple-looking interior with just a few tables and a lot of stainless steel.
