Frommer's Review
It's such a pleasure to find a luxury-level hotel that's elegant instead of garish, and understated rather than pompous. Located across from Library Square, the Westin Grand offers high-end all-suite accommodations within easy walking distance of Yaletown, GM Place, and Robson shopping. The spacious suites are brightened by natural light pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows; if you can, spring for one of the deluxe 09 or 03 units, which have balconies. Sitting rooms come with a concealed kitchenette and loads of business-friendly amenities. The furnishings throughout are clean-lined and contemporary; bathrooms are roomy, most with separate tub and shower. Kids get a special welcome kit, and the hotel's Aria restaurant has a kids' menu. Check the website for special deals; suites are often available for half the rack rate.
Facilities:
Restaurant; outdoor pool; health club; Jacuzzi; sauna; children's welcome bag; concierge; business center; 24-hr. room service; in-room massage; babysitting; laundry service; same-day dry cleaning; nonsmoking hotel; executive-level rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
