Frommer's Review
A boutique hotel midway between Robson Square and the financial district, Le Soleil tries hard to look like a glamorous French country manor with crystal chandeliers, plush carpeting, and gilded ceilings in the lobby. Except for 10 doubles, all the units are suites; for maximum space, the corner suites are best. The problem with some of the units is that the sitting areas have no windows and consequently feel gloomy and confined, despite the Biedermeier-style furniture and richly colored wallpapers and fabrics. Where Le Soleil shines is in its personal service, but if you're looking for a luxury boutique hotel, the Wedgewood or the Opus are more appealing.
